Meaningful conversations build the relationships that are essential to every effective team. In fact, the most successful people and teams have psychological safety, a growth mindset over a fixed mindset, high EQ ("your ability to understand other people, what motivates them and how to work cooperatively with them.”), and Cognitive Diversity. All of these characteristics depend on conversations that encourage different perspectives, sharing knowledge, and even a little fun. But how do you get those types of conversations started? It is unfortunately not so easy to build the culture where these conversations happen naturally, especially when teams work remotely.

This is why we’ve built the Cloverleaf bot for Microsoft Teams, to send conversation prompts a couple times a week to get your team talking in a way that builds powerful culture. After using the Cloverleaf bot over time, you’ll notice that your team culture more naturally supports conversations where you learn about each other and approach situations with more curiosity and collaboration. Just one more way that Cloverleaf is taking you a step closer to enjoying your work and teammates 🎉

Here's how to get the Cloverleaf App set up in your Microsoft Teams:

  1. Open your Microsoft Teams app. In the left-hand selection panel, click the three dots. This will show you apps that you can integrate. Click "MORE APPS" in the bottom, right-hand corner.

2. A list of apps will appear, along with the category list on the left. You can see this is the picture below. At the bottom of the list, click "UPLOAD A CUSTOM APP."

If you don't see 'upload a custom app' it could be because your IT department has disabled this feature for security reasons. In this case, you can reach out to your IT department and they can install the app for you.

3. Upload the zip file (which can be downloaded from here). Once it's uploaded you will find the app in your "Built for {{Your Organization}}" menu option.

4. Click the arrow to the right of "ADD", then click "ADD TO A TEAM", and add Cloverleaf to your team.

5. Then go to the team you selected, and you'll see that Cloverleaf has sent you a message with quick and easy set up instructions. Make sure that you follow the instructions to connect the bot to a specific channel. It can only work once the specific channel is connected.

6. Once you start receiving prompts, respond to them with your teammates and enjoy sharing knowledge and stories!
