What you’ll learn
How to build a saved dashboard for any group in two steps, without sending invites
How to choose who can see your dashboard (Private, Shared, or Public)
How to use AI coaching, the Collaboration playbook, and the team insight cards
How to rename, share, copy, or transfer a dashboard
Who can do this: All Cloverleaf users. Two sources in Step 1 have extra requirements. The Meetings source requires a connected calendar, and the Categories (Admin) source requires Cloverleaf Customer Success to set up categories for your organization first.
What is a dashboard, and when should I use it?
A Dashboard is a saved, shareable view for any group of people, such as a project crew, a committee, or the attendees of tomorrow’s meeting. Find it under Collaborate > Dashboards in the left-hand navigation.
A dashboard shows the same insights as a team page (group assessments, team roles, relationships, and activities). It also adds AI coaching and a Collaboration playbook built from the people you choose. The coaching covers how to work with each person and with the group as a whole.
Use a dashboard when you want to:
Prep for a meeting or project kickoff with a specific set of people
Understand a cross-functional group, cohort, or committee that is not a formal team
Coach a group you support, with yourself on the dashboard so you can see how you fit in
Return to the same group without rebuilding it each time
Dashboards replace the older Dashboard Builder, which created a one-time view you could not save. You can now name a dashboard, save it, find it again, and choose who else can see it.
A dashboard never gives anyone extra access to behavioral assessment data. Each person on a dashboard shows only what the viewer can already see under your organization’s Visibility Settings.
Where do I find my dashboards?
The Dashboards page has three tabs and a Create a dashboard button in the top right.
Tab | What you’ll find | Use it to |
My dashboards | Dashboards you own or that were shared with you. Columns show Teammates, Visibility, Your role, Owner, and Updated. | Reopen a group you already built. Search by name, or turn on Show dismissed to see dashboards you hid. |
Public in your organization | Dashboards someone published for everyone in your organization. | Join a group view a colleague already set up instead of building your own. |
Reporting teams | Your reporting line, nested by manager (for example, your manager’s team, your team, and your direct reports’ teams). Expand a row with the arrow. | Open the dashboard for any reporting team you can see. These are built automatically from manager relationships. |
Each row has a ... menu at the end:
On a dashboard in My dashboards: Rename, Share, Make a copy, Transfer ownership, Delete.
On a Reporting teams row: Update reporting team and Make a copy. Make a copy creates your own editable dashboard from that reporting team.
How do I create a dashboard?
Step 1: Choose who is on it
Step 1 decides who appears on the dashboard. You can add people one at a time, add whole groups, or do both. A counter at the top keeps a running total, for example “4 teammates on this dashboard, 2 added directly.”
On the Dashboards page, click Create a dashboard.
You are added automatically as “(you).” Keep yourself on to see how you fit with the group, or click the x to remove yourself.
Under Teammates, type a name and select the person from the list. Each result shows the organization the person belongs to, which helps if you work across more than one organization.
Under Sources, click the field to add a whole group at once. Choose from three tabs:
Click the arrow on a source card to see exactly who it adds. Click the x next to a name to remove an individual from a source.
Click Next.
Decision point:
If the group is a few specific people, add them under Teammates.
If the group already exists as a reporting team or a calendar meeting, add it under Sources instead.
A source keeps its identity and is marked Live. When the reporting team or meeting changes, the people on your dashboard update with it, so you don’t maintain the list by hand.
Step 2: Name it and choose visibility
Step 2 names the dashboard and decides who else can see it. You can change both later.
Enter a name. Cloverleaf suggests one based on the people you added (for example, “Kai Wilson and 1 other”). Keep it or type your own, like “Q4 Launch Team.”
Choose a visibility from the dropdown.
Click Create dashboard. The new dashboard opens right away and appears under My dashboards.
Visibility | Who can open it | Extra options |
Private (default) | Only you, the owner. It can’t be shared. | None |
Shared | You, the people you share it with, and admins in the dashboard’s organization. | Share this with teammates on this dashboard: it shows up in their list. Turn it off to look at a group without involving them. Teammates on this dashboard can edit it: they can add and remove teammates, including themselves. Turn it off for view-only. |
Public | Anyone in your organization can find and open it without an invitation. It appears in Public in your organization. | The two Shared options, plus Anyone who opens this dashboard can add themselves to it. |
Decision point:
If you want to study a group on your own, keep the dashboard Private.
If you want specific people to see it, choose Shared.
If you want anyone in your organization to find it, choose Public.
If you turn on self-join for a Public dashboard, turn off edit access for teammates. Otherwise, anyone who joins can edit the dashboard.
What does the top of my dashboard show?
Your new dashboard opens with AI coaching at the top and team insights below. Everything is built from the behavioral assessments the people on it have taken.
Dashboard name and dropdown arrow: click the arrow to jump to another dashboard. It lists My dashboards, Public in your organization, and Reporting teams, with a search box.
Visibility badge (Private, Shared, or Public): shows who can see the dashboard.
Teammate photos: everyone on the dashboard.
Collaboration playbook: an AI-written one-page guide to how the group works together.
... menu: manage the dashboard.
Explore dashboard: try different views just for yourself.
How do I ask a question about my group?
Under What’s on your mind about..., type any question about working with this group, such as “How can I run a better kickoff with this team?” Press the arrow.
Cloverleaf coaches you based on how each person on the dashboard operates and how they work together.
For ideas, click one of the Smart prompts for this team cards. Use the arrows to page through more.
What is the Collaboration playbook?
The Collaboration playbook takes a moment to generate. It includes:
A headline about the group
Team strengths
Team tensions, with a suggested Move for each
Possible blindspot
What to do when (for example, making decisions or disagreeing)
Team cheat sheet
Conversation starters
A Based on row lists which assessments the playbook used and how many people took each one.
Click Download PDF to share the playbook or bring it to a meeting.
Click the refresh icon to regenerate it after the group or their results change. Only people who manage the dashboard and teammates on it can regenerate it.
Anyone named in the playbook can choose Remove me from this playbook.
How do I focus the view on certain people or assessments?
Explore dashboard opens a side panel where you can toggle teammates and assessment cards on or off, for example to compare just two people. It changes only what you see, not the dashboard itself, and it resets when you leave. Click Reset to the full dashboard to start over.
How do I manage a dashboard from the ... menu?
The ... menu next to Collaboration playbook holds eight actions. As the owner, you see all of them. What other people see depends on their access.
Option | What it does | When to use it |
Manage teammates | Reopens the Step 1 screen so you can add or remove teammates and sources. Click Save changes when done. | The group changed: someone joined the project, or you want to add a meeting’s attendees. |
Manage assessment cards | Shows checkboxes for every card: 16 Types, Activities, CliftonStrengths, Culture Pulse, DISC, Energy Rhythm, Enneagram, Insights Discovery, Instinctive Drives, Motivating values, Navigate a team challenge, Relationships, Strengthscope, Team roles, and VIA. Click Apply to dashboard, or Use your organization’s defaults to reset. | Keep the dashboard focused on the assessments your group uses. This becomes the default for everyone who opens it. |
Rename | Changes the dashboard’s name. Everyone with access sees the new name. | Replace the suggested name with something meaningful. |
Share | Change visibility, copy the link, and add people under Shared with, such as a manager or stakeholder who isn’t on the dashboard. | Give someone access without adding them to the group. |
Leave this dashboard | Removes you from the dashboard’s teammates. If you’re the owner, you still own it and can open it anytime. | You want to study a group without appearing in its insights. |
Make a copy | Creates a separate dashboard that only you can see until you share it. Changes to one don’t show in the other. It includes only teammates you can already see. | Personalize a shared or public dashboard without changing the original. |
Transfer ownership | Makes another teammate in this organization the owner. Choose them under New owner. | You’re changing roles or handing the group to someone else. |
Delete | Permanently deletes the dashboard. This can’t be undone. | You no longer need it. Consider Make a copy or Transfer ownership first if others rely on it. |
What do the dashboard cards show?
Below the coaching area, cards are grouped by theme. A card shows Incomplete or Not enough data when too few people on the dashboard have taken that assessment. Click the ? next to any card for a quick explanation, and the > arrows to drill in.
Section | Cards | How it helps you |
Activities | Ready-made team exercises such as Cloverleaf Spotlight, Scavenger Hunt, and Team Traits Explorer, with time estimates. View all activities shows more. | Run a quick team-building exercise built on the group’s results. |
Relationships | Team thinking style (how diverse or similar the group is) and Thinking styles comparison (pick an assessment and two people to compare side by side, including how each handles conflict). | Spot where two people may clash and how to bridge it. |
Productivity | Energy Rhythm: the share of Starters, Pacers, and Anchors, each person’s pattern, and a Best time of day picker. | Schedule focused work and meetings when the group has the most energy. |
Roles | Team roles (a check means the role is covered, ! means it’s a gap) and the Team role grid. | See which roles your group fills and where it may need help. |
Behavior | Team Insights Discovery wheel, Team 16 Types, Team DISC with the DISC circle, and Team Enneagram triads. | Understand how the group communicates, decides, and reacts as a whole. |
Culture | Instinctive Drives, Culture Pulse, and Motivating values, each with a person picker. | See what motivates the group and the kind of environment it works best in. |
Strengths | Strengthscope, CliftonStrengths (team strengths by domain), and VIA character strengths. | Lean on the group’s natural strengths when assigning work. |
To hide cards for everyone, use ... > Manage assessment cards. To hide them only for yourself, use Explore dashboard.
